Velvet horn seaweed (codium) belongs to the green algae family; known for its wide range of green tones that vary according to species. These algae usually live on the surface of the coast by sunlight.
It’s rich in vitamins A, D, C, B2, B3, B9 and B12. It’s also high in fibre and mineral salts (iron, potassium, selenium and calcium, among others).
Preparation
You can enjoy this exquisite product in an infinite number of ways: baked, boiled or sautéed with vegetables.
Baked: Directly in the oven or on the grill, as a snack, or to finish off fish or shellfish dishes.
Boiled: Add them to soups, stews, rice dishes, noodles, creams, sauces, broths...
Stir-fried: Once hydrated and fried, add them to empanadas, béchamel sauces, canapés, stir-fries, fillings, omelettes and scrambled eggs, as a garnish, or finish off fish and shellfish dishes...
