Viñaredo Godello is a wine from the Bodegas Santa Marta winery, located in the town of Córgomo, in the heart of the Valdeorras region. This winery was founded in 1998 as a result of the union of two young farmers who already had experience as winemakers and who had grown up among vines. This family winery was created with the ‘spark’ of youth and with the idea of making wines with grapes from old vineyards. With more than 25 years of experience, the winery has a wide range of wines, including this Viñaredo Godello, made with the most typical grape variety of the region: Godello. The winemaking tradition of Bodegas Santa Marta has led them to carry out a viticulture based on respect for the land, the plant and its fruits.
The region of Valdeorras, in the province of Ourense, is the closest to León and is home to traditional wine-producing villages such as Córgomo, where this art was cultivated as far back as Roman times. The characteristics of its soil and the climatic conditions of this area provide the ideal raw material to produce unique wines. The slopes of the village, at an altitude of over 600m, are the privileged place where these vineyards grow on slate soils and bathed by a Mediterranean-Oceanic climate.
