Registration cookies are generated once a user has registered or subsequently opened their session and are used to identify them on services with the following objectives:
Keeping users logged in so that if they close a service, browser, or computer and re-enter the service at a later time or date, they will still be logged in, thus facilitating their browsing experience by removing the need to do so again. This feature is nullified if the user selects the “Log out” function, thereby deleting the cookie. The next time the user enters the service, they will have to log in to be identified.
Checking whether the user is authorised to access certain services, for example, to enter a contest.
